Nestled in the Tammaro Valley, just a short distance from Campobasso, Agriturismo La Ginestra welcomes guests into a charming stone farmhouse dating back to the early 1900s, meticulously renovated to maintain its original allure. Established in 1999 from the Rosa family's love for Molise, the venture successfully merges tradition and hospitality, providing an authentic experience amidst nature, history, and rustic flavors.

The rooms, converted from the old rural spaces, offer modern comforts in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere. Each morning, breakfast prepared by Patrizia features homemade pastries, yogurt, cured meats, and cheeses from the farm, with special attention to guests with food intolerances. The restaurant, open on weekends and for events, serves as the beating heart of the agriturismo: dishes showcasing local Molise cuisine, fresh pasta, grilled meats, and locally produced cured meats and cheeses reflect the cooking of yesteryears, while the iconic herbal "zolletta" rounds off every meal with a communal ritual.

Enhancing the experience, the Agribar "Oasi della Ginestra" offers Molise artisan wines and beers, traditional snacks, and themed evenings, turning every stay into a social occasion. The facility features spacious areas with parking, a playground, nature trails, and a historic fountain that was once believed to be miraculous.

The location is perfect for discovering the most authentic side of Molise: from the Roman ruins of Altilia to the WWF Oasis of Guardiaregia, from historic villages to the peaks of Monte Saraceno, every excursion provides unspoiled landscapes and vibrant traditions. The agriturismo also offers trekking activities, guided tours, and cultural pathways for a thorough immersion into the history and nature of this land.

At La Ginestra, every guest is treated like family: Pino, Milena, Patrizia, Maria, and Pasquale, with their passion and dedication, convey the genuine spirit of Molise, where every detail tells a story of roots, hard work, and love for their homeland.
Rooms and Rates
Breakfast at Ginestra is made every morning using fresh ingredients from the farm. In addition to milk, coffee brewed in a moka pot, tea, herbal infusions, and juices, homemade cakes, doughnuts, tarts, and muffins prepared by Patrizia are served. There are also yogurt, toast with cured meats and typical cheeses, along with options for food intolerances and dedicated menus for vegetarians and vegans, ensuring that every need is met with flavor and authenticity.
The restaurant at Agriturismo La Ginestra offers authentic cuisine from the Molise region, with dishes made exclusively from products sourced from the family farm. Pasta is handmade daily, while cured meats and cheeses are produced on-site, and the meats are grilled in front of the guests. Notable specialties include roasted dishes, traditional recipes featuring spelt, and the famous herbal digestive sugar cubes.

The main dining room, which seats over 60 and has an open kitchen, is open for lunch on weekends and for events. Meanwhile, the Agribar welcomes guests every evening with tasting menus or à la carte options, complemented by wines and craft beers from Molise.

Hey, I'm Pino

The Rosa family is the heart of the agriturismo: Pino greets guests warmly and works on the cooking alongside his sister Milena; Patrizia passionately takes care of the breakfasts and the tidiness of the rooms; Maria and Pasquale run the kitchen and the farm. Together, they convey warmth, authenticity, and a love for their land, providing a homely hospitality that makes every guest feel at home.

Area Collina

The agriturismo La Ginestra is located in Cercemaggiore, in the heart of central Molise, surrounded by the lush nature of the Tammaro Valley. This hilly area, situated at about 700 meters above sea level, offers expansive views that stretch to the Matese mountains and the surrounding Apennine ranges, providing a pleasantly cool climate in summer and enchanting atmospheres in winter.

The location is perfect for those who enjoy exploring the history and traditions of Molise. Just a few minutes away is the archaeological site of Altilia (Sepino), featuring the well-preserved Roman forum and theater. The WWF Oasis of Guardiaregia-Campochiaro invites visitors to discover forests, waterfalls, and nature trails rich in biodiversity. Nearby medieval villages, such as Agnone, known for its bells and copper craftsmanship, and Riccia, with its picturesque historical center, are also worth a visit.

The area boasts numerous trekking and hiking trails that lead through castles, hermitages, and ancient churches, ultimately reaching Monte Saraceno, which towers over the valley at 1,100 meters. About half an hour's drive away are Campitello Matese, a popular destination for winter sports and summer walks, and Benevento, a city rich in Lombard and Roman heritage.

This region is also home to a strong culinary tradition: cheeses, cured meats, ancient grain pasta, and grilled meats embody the essence of Molise cuisine, often paired with local wines like Tintilia. Those who stay here have the opportunity to experience an authentic and less touristy Molise, filled with unspoiled landscapes, quiet villages, and genuine hospitality.
