Our bed & breakfast welcomes you with a unique lodging experience, ensuring the utmost tranquility and intimacy: you will be the only guests in our home for the entire duration of your stay. Nestled in a small village surrounded by greenery, at about 400 meters above sea level, the B&B is just a few minutes away from the shores of Lake Orta, 15 minutes from Lake Maggiore, and 20 minutes from the summit of Mottarone, making it an ideal location for exploring the surrounding area.

Whether you enjoy walking, trekking, Nordic walking, or mountain biking, you will find trails and paths suitable for every level here. For those traveling by motorcycle, scenic routes through hills, lakes, and mountains are available. If you prefer to relax, you can read or sip herbal tea in our garden, shaded by a large cherry tree. Even those working remotely will find a serene environment, with the option to connect to our free Wi-Fi from the terrace or garden.

Our home has been renovated with a special focus on energy efficiency: we use solar panels for hot water, natural insulation made from wood fiber and cork, and autonomous heating in the rooms. Hospitality is a core value for us: welcoming you in a warm, family-like atmosphere is our top priority.

The rooms, thoughtfully decorated, offer comfort and privacy. The Iris double room, bright and in soft tones, provides a lovely view of the hills. The Narcissus room, featuring two single beds and vibrant colors, has a window and a skylight that allows you to fall asleep under a starry sky. Both rooms have independent entrances, ensuring maximum freedom of movement at any hour.

A rich and wholesome breakfast is served in a room with a panoramic balcony, where you can enjoy it outdoors on beautiful days. We look forward to providing you with a stay focused on nature, relaxation, and the discovery of the wonderful Lake Orta area.
Rooms and Rates
Breakfast is a special time for me, a way to start the day that I hope will be enjoyable and relaxing for my guests as well. For this reason, I pay close attention to selecting fresh and wholesome products to provide you with a sweet and satisfying awakening.

The breakfast we serve follows the Italian tradition, offering a wide range of hot beverages including milk, coffee, barley, tea, and Nesquik. You can enjoy these with toasted bread, butter, jams, honey, Nutella, cookies, and rusks. We also offer fruit juices, cereals, yogurt, and, depending on availability, pastries or homemade sweets.

For those with specific dietary requirements, we ask that you communicate these at the time of booking, so we can provide suitable alternatives for your needs.

If you prefer a more substantial breakfast to start your day, we can also prepare a hearty English breakfast (5€ per person) upon request, featuring scrambled eggs, bacon, and beans.

Whether you need an energizing moment before a hike or a chance to savor the tranquility of the morning, our breakfast is designed to make you feel welcomed and pampered from the moment you wake up.

Hey, I'm Manuela

My name is Manuela, but everyone calls me LaManu. Communication is my passion: I work as a freelancer and teach this craft at the Communication Academy in Milan, at NABA, and in other schools. I also manage the press office for various music festivals, including Un Paese a Sei Corde, Amenoblues Festival, and Villa Nigra Opera Festival. I enjoy reading, cooking, swimming, and practicing yoga, but my favorite retreat is my garden, where I tend to flowers, plants, and fruit trees. It’s from this place that I create the jams and desserts that I make with love. Another great passion of mine is riding two wheels: my motorcycles, Betty (a 1998 Honda Hornet) and Ariel (a 1992 Ducati 900 SS), accompany me on journeys and adventures, and I also enjoy snowmobiling in winter. After spending years in Milan, I decided to move to this peaceful corner of nature. Here, I have found my balance, and I invite you to join me in the shade of the large cherry tree to share the joy of hospitality and the genuine beauty of Lake Orta.

Area Collina

Under the Shadow of the Cherry Tree is situated in a quaint village surrounded by the lush greenery of Cusio, a charming region nestled between Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore. Its location is ideal for those looking to discover the area, with Lake Orta just a five-minute drive away, Orta San Giulio and the Sacred Mountain within ten minutes, and Lake Maggiore easily accessible in under half an hour. Mottarone, known for its panoramic views, is approximately thirty minutes away, while Malpensa Airport is about forty minutes distant. Cities like Milan, Novara, and Domodossola can be reached in about an hour, and Macugnaga, at the foot of Monte Rosa, is just over seventy minutes away.

The region offers numerous hiking opportunities that can be accessed directly from the B&B without the need for a car. Nature walks, cultural tours, and sports activities such as trekking, Nordic walking, and mountain biking are readily available. For those who enjoy relaxation, the shores of Lake Orta feature equipped beaches and scenic trails. Essential services, including a pharmacy, grocery store, and tennis court, are just a short walk from the property.

Lake Orta is one of the most romantic gems in Piedmont. Orta San Giulio, with its cobblestone streets and beautiful Piazza Motta overlooking the lake, is a perfect spot for enchanting strolls and visits to the Island of San Giulio, home to a captivating Romanesque basilica. The Sacred Mountain of Orta, a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers a pathway through frescoed chapels set in an ancient forest. Nearby, Monte Mesma provides an extraordinary view of the lake and is easily accessible via a walk through chestnut groves.

Lake Maggiore is less than twenty minutes by car. Arona is an excellent destination for a lakeside stroll and to see the statue of Saint Charles Borromeo. Continuing along the coast, Stresa serves as a gateway for excursions to the Borromean Islands, featuring the stunning gardens of Isola Bella and Isola Madre, as well as the picturesque village of Isola dei Pescatori. The area also boasts the botanical gardens of Villa Taranto and the park of Villa Pallavicino.

For mountain lovers, a trip to the summit of Mottarone offers breathtaking views of seven lakes and Monte Rosa. In summer, it is a fantastic destination for scenic walks, while in winter, it provides ski slopes and the thrill of Alpyland, a type of alpine roller coaster. In Val d’Ossola and the surrounding valleys, you can visit the Toce Falls, the thermal baths of Premia, and charming towns in Val Vigezzo, such as Santa Maria Maggiore.

The region presents countless opportunities for hiking, sports, and relaxation amidst spectacular landscapes, historic villages, and gastronomic trails. Whether it’s a day of exploration or a moment of tranquility by the lake, every corner of this area promises an unforgettable experience.
