Its location is ideal for those looking to discover the area, with Lake Orta just a five-minute drive away, Orta San Giulio and the Sacred Mountain within ten minutes, and Lake Maggiore easily accessible in under half an hour. Mottarone, known for its panoramic views, is approximately thirty minutes away, while Malpensa Airport is about forty minutes distant. Cities like Milan, Novara, and Domodossola can be reached in about an hour, and Macugnaga, at the foot of Monte Rosa, is just over seventy minutes away.
The region offers numerous hiking opportunities that can be accessed directly from the B&B without the need for a car. Essential services, including a pharmacy, grocery store, and tennis court, are just a short walk from the property.
Lake Orta is one of the most romantic gems in Piedmont. Orta San Giulio, with its cobblestone streets and beautiful Piazza Motta overlooking the lake, is a perfect spot for enchanting strolls and visits to the Island of San Giulio, home to a captivating Romanesque basilica. The Sacred Mountain of Orta, a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers a pathway through frescoed chapels set in an ancient forest. Nearby, Monte Mesma provides an extraordinary view of the lake and is easily accessible via a walk through chestnut groves.
Lake Maggiore is less than twenty minutes by car. Arona is an excellent destination for a lakeside stroll and to see the statue of Saint Charles Borromeo. Continuing along the coast, Stresa serves as a gateway for excursions to the Borromean Islands, featuring the stunning gardens of Isola Bella and Isola Madre, as well as the picturesque village of Isola dei Pescatori. The area also boasts the botanical gardens of Villa Taranto and the park of Villa Pallavicino.
For mountain lovers, a trip to the summit of Mottarone offers breathtaking views of seven lakes and Monte Rosa. In summer, it is a fantastic destination for scenic walks, while in winter, it provides ski slopes and the thrill of Alpyland, a type of alpine roller coaster. In Val d’Ossola and the surrounding valleys, you can visit the Toce Falls, the thermal baths of Premia, and charming towns in Val Vigezzo, such as Santa Maria Maggiore.
The region presents countless opportunities for hiking, sports, and relaxation amidst spectacular landscapes, historic villages, and gastronomic trails. Whether it’s a day of exploration or a moment of tranquility by the lake, every corner of this area promises an unforgettable experience.
