Ca’ Frescòt was born out of a desire to reconnect with nature. After spending years in Turin, the owners decided in 2012 to find a sanctuary away from urban chaos. The discovery of an ancient ruin in Casorzo, nestled in the heart of the Monferrato hills, transformed into a life project: a careful and passionate renovation restored the house to its original charm, quickly becoming the perfect getaway for weekends. Over time, the desire to share this experience took shape, and the home opened its doors to those looking for a break in nature, allowing them to enjoy the serenity and beauty of the countryside.

Guests are welcomed into three elegantly furnished double rooms, equipped with air conditioning for all seasons, TV with digital terrestrial and satellite channels, a safe, mini-bar, kettle, and free Wi-Fi. In the morning, a meticulously prepared breakfast can be enjoyed in the garden on fine days, surrounded by the tranquility and scents of nature.

The setting surrounding Ca’ Frescòt is that of the Monferrato hills, a unique landscape recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Rows of vines create harmonious geometries among ancient villages and castles, telling the story of the region's long winemaking tradition. Here, internationally renowned wines such as Asti Spumante, Barbera d’Asti, and Malvasia are produced, the result of knowledge passed down through the centuries.

Just a few kilometers away lies the Monferrato degli Infernot, a captivating area home to ancient cellars carved into the stone, providing concrete evidence of the wine culture and the strong connection between humans and their environment. A stay at Ca’ Frescòt is an invitation to slow down, rediscover the joy of simple pleasures, and be surprised by the authentic beauty of rural Piedmont.

Area Campagna

Monferrato is one of the most captivating areas of Piedmont, a landscape shaped over time by human hands and the subtle power of nature. Its hills gently roll amidst orderly vineyards, tranquil forests, and charming villages that retain their unspoiled allure. This is a land that encourages you to slow down, listen to the sounds of the countryside, and savor the authentic quality of rural life.

Casorzo is located in the heart of this region, nestled between the Asti and Alessandria Monferrato areas, making it an ideal starting point for discovering the surrounding beauty. The scenery changes with the seasons, offering different colors and atmospheres throughout the year: the spring blooms, the green vineyards of summer, the vibrant reds of autumn, and the hushed silences of winter.

The entire region has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, not only for the harmony of its landscape but also for the rich wine culture that permeates it. Here, some of Italy's most famous wines are produced, such as Barbera d’Asti, Malvasia, and Asti Spumante, thanks to a deep-rooted and ancient winemaking knowledge. Visitors can tour historic cellars, taste renowned labels, and uncover the secrets of winemaking, guided by those who passionately preserve these traditions.

Particularly intriguing are the “Infernot” areas, small hand-dug underground cellars carved from Pietra da Cantoni, a crumbly rock typical of lower Monferrato. These cool, dry spaces were originally designed for storing the finest bottles. Today, they are open for visits and represent a unique cultural heritage, symbolizing a deep connection to the land and its history.

However, Monferrato offers more than just wine; it is also a hub of art, history, and gastronomy. Medieval castles, Romanesque churches, scenic trails, and local festivals mark the calendar and the landscape. The local cuisine is rich and generous, featuring authentic flavors such as tajarin, agnolotto, mixed fried dishes typical of Piedmont, and hazelnut desserts.

Staying in this area means embracing a different pace of life, filled with simple and genuine experiences, surrounded by a landscape that speaks of beauty, hard work, and respect for one's roots.
