The area where La Tinaia is located is an authentic and still relatively untouched part of western Sardinia, where nature, history, and traditions exist in perfect harmony. We are situated in Turudas, within the municipality of Magomadas, just a few minutes from Bosa, in a lush valley known for the production of Malvasia di Bosa DOC, one of the island's most esteemed wines. The landscape is characterized by gently rolling vineyards, olive groves, and orchards, creating a rural setting of rare beauty, enhanced by the proximity of the sea, which is only 3 kilometers away.
Bosa, overlooking the estuary of the Temo River – the only navigable river in Sardinia – is a timeless village, with its colorful houses lining the river, the cobblestone historic center, the Malaspina Castle that dominates the Serravalle hill, and the ancient tanneries (sas Conzas), a testament to an important artisanal past. The medieval district of Sa Costa invites leisurely strolls among picturesque views, artisan shops, and quaint cafés.
Nearby, there are even smaller yet equally charming villages such as Modolo, renowned for its wine production and scenic position in the Malvasia Valley, Flussio, and Tinnura, famous for their craftsmanship in asphodel weaving and basketry. In these villages, one can still meet women hand-weaving according to ancient traditions passed down through generations.
The region offers numerous opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts: trekking through the hills and Mediterranean scrub, cycling routes, horseback riding, and gastronomic tours through wineries, olive oil mills, and small local producers. From a cultural and archaeological perspective, there are many sites of great interest, such as nuraghes, domus de janas, and the remains of Roman villas, all telling a millennia-old story deeply connected to the land.
Thanks to its strategic location, La Tinaia serves as an ideal starting point for exploring both the pristine beaches of the coast and the more authentic inland areas, all while enjoying the tranquility and beauty of a stay immersed in the Sardinian countryside.
