Placed in the low north-eastern slope of mount Etna at 2 Km far from the see, the farm offers various possibilities of staying to the lovers of the sea and of the mountains. The most important farmhouse, the centre, is in the territory of Saint Leonardello, hamlet of the town of Giarre, in the province of Catania. Here, in rural houses completely restored in harmony and syntony with the sorrounding country, you can enjoy a comfortable and relaxing stay, some minutes from the sea and the most important tourist places of Eastern Sicily. The farm prevently with a citrus trend, presents in intercropping with the citrus grove, fruit bearing plants and has chosen the production in a biological regime guarenteeing in such a way the authenticity of its own produce.

The Agriturismo San Leonardello is a charming and lovely place with a welcoming and very friendly family as hosts. The grounds are beautiful with lots of lemon- (and other) trees, charming simple rooms, a delicious homemade breakfast, a very nice pool and stunning views of Mount Etna, the sea and Taormina. It is a rather quiet place (apart from the lovely but during the nights incessantly barking dog), which we love, and a good starting point for trips to Catania, the Etna, Taormina and many more delightful places. We also drove to Caltagirone, where the famous ceramics are made and to beautiful Syracuse. We personally would have liked it if there would have been a nice little village with some cafés one could reach on foot and have some nice walks, but the next village doesn't offer much in that respect and I would not recommend walking the small distance along the small yet quite frequented and dangerous road. So if you don't mind either taking the car for everything you want to do outside the Agriturismo or spending lots of time on the grounds of it, which would have been absolutely lovely had the weather been better (we had the bad luck of being there during the recent "Medicane" with lots of rain and thunderstorms), this is a wonderful place to be, a proper little paradise. I can only praise the owners for their friendliness and the care they take to make the place special and charming and to suggest special destinations to their guests - it was always a pleasure talking to them!

We loved this place. It is perfect for families - my children are 12, 10 and 8 years old. The host Vera was so friendly and helpful and gave us an incredibly warm welcome to Sicily. The property is surrounded by lemon groves, fig trees, olive trees and has gorgeous sea views as well as Mount Etna. The shared pool is lovely and mostly we had it to ourselves. The breakfasts and optional evening meals were superb. Opportunities to do a cooking course there too. The main road is quite near but doesn’t really detract from the charm of the place. My daughter loved their pet dogs particularly 16 yr old Lulu! The location is perfect for day trips to the gorgeous volcanic coastline, excursions to Mount Etna, Taormina, Catania, wine-tasting, Etnaland (children’s adventure park) Highly recommended.

With my wife and two couples of friends we stayed at this agriturismo B&B for two days at the end of August 2016. I must say that we were very satisfied with this structure from all points of view: beautiful location (spacious rooms, beautiful pool in the middle of a well-kept meadow and citrus groves), the friendliness of the owners, but above all the excellent buffet breakfast with freshly baked pastries, always fresh bread, yogurt, tray of cold cuts and cheeses and the exquisite homemade citrus jams (lemon, mandarin, clementine). Definitely recommendable.
