In the heart of Carranco, at the base of Mount Etna and just a short walk from the Alcantara River Park, Villa dei Baroni Wine Resort invites guests to enjoy an exceptionally beautiful natural setting. Nestled among vineyards and olive trees, along with a captivating Lava Garden, three villas are immersed in nature, two of which feature swimming pools, providing an ideal environment for relaxation, sports, and exploring the surrounding area.

Established in 1870 and connected to the history of the noble Baroni Vagliasindi family, the estate has preserved its original charm thanks to careful restoration that highlights local materials such as Etna lava stone and handcrafted terracotta. Today, the main villa spans two levels, featuring four elegant bedrooms, each with a private bathroom and panoramic views, plus a fifth room on the upper floor with an 80 m² terrace. The interior spaces are refined and meticulously designed, blending contemporary design elements with antique furniture and artworks, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout the year.

Outside, a 3,000 m² garden leads to the villa via a path made of ancient lava stones. The large L-shaped swimming pool is surrounded by palm trees and offers views of Mount Etna on one side and the Nebrodi mountains on the other. A tennis court and pathways winding through the vineyards and olive groves enhance the immersive experience of the Sicilian landscape. The old wine cellar, once the heart of the winemaking process, serves as a reminder of the estate’s deep roots in the island's winemaking tradition.

The location ensures complete privacy, with the nearest town just 3 km away, yet it allows for easy access to popular attractions such as Castiglione di Sicilia, Randazzo, Taormina, and the Picciolo Golf Club. The experience is further enhanced by included services such as a welcome glass of Etna wine, breakfast for the first day, weekly cleaning and linen changes, pool and garden maintenance, an outdoor laundry area, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and the discreet presence of a caretaker always available to assist.

Villa dei Baroni

Area Campagna

Carranco is situated on the northeastern slope of Mount Etna, within the territory of Castiglione di Sicilia, in one of the region's most captivating and genuine areas. This small corner of Sicily serves as a unique meeting point between the formidable force of volcanic nature, the tranquility of rural landscapes, and the richness of agricultural and winemaking traditions.

The elevation, climate, and predominantly volcanic soil make this region particularly suitable for cultivating vines and olive trees. The vineyards surrounding Carranco are part of the esteemed Etna DOC area, known for producing mineral-rich, elegant wines that are deeply connected to the land. The changing seasons are marked by the rhythms of the countryside and the vibrant colors that shift continuously: the black of the lava, the green of the vine rows, the white of the snow on Etna, and the golden expanses of summer grain fields.

The landscape is dominated by the ever-present and awe-inspiring volcano, which offers varied scenery at any time of day or night. Just a few minutes away are the Alcantara Gorges, stunning natural canyons carved by water in the basalt, where one can stroll, hike, or take a dip in the cool river waters. Castiglione di Sicilia, with its medieval historic center and stone-carved wineries, has been recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, while Randazzo boasts valuable monuments made of volcanic stone and a strong local identity.

Carranco also serves as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding areas: in under 40 minutes, you can reach Taormina, with its ancient theaters and seaside boutiques, as well as the beaches of Giardini Naxos. Nearby is the Golf Club Il Picciolo, ideal for those seeking an exclusive sporting experience, and the Etna Park, perfect for excursions among craters, forests, and lunar landscapes.

In this part of Sicily, time seems to slow down, and nature, history, and wine become the true highlights of every experience. Carranco is more than just a location; it is an invitation to rediscover the value of silence, authenticity, and primordial beauty.
