Vigo Meano is situated on the eastern hill of Trento, at the base of Monte Calisio, also known as Monte Argentario due to its ancient silver mines that have shaped its history since medieval times. This area combines nature, landscape, and tradition, providing a serene and picturesque environment just minutes from the city.
From the hill, there are scenic views of the Val d’Adige and Paganella, with the Dolomites of Brenta framing the background. A dense network of trails winds through the surrounding woods and clearings, ideal for rejuvenating walks, trekking, mountain biking, or horseback riding. Nearby, you can find the captivating Piramidi di Segonzano, impressive natural earth columns, and the Altopiano di Pinè, renowned for its lakes and relaxing atmosphere.
In winter, the nearby Fiemme and Fassa valleys offer well-equipped ski resorts and trails for snowshoeing, while in summer, they become perfect destinations for walks among the forests and alpine pastures, high-altitude hikes, and scenic cycling routes. About a fifteen-minute drive away, Trento greets visitors with its historic center filled with Renaissance buildings, museums like MUSE and the Buonconsiglio Castle, and a vibrant cultural atmosphere.
From the capital, it’s also easy to access Valsugana, featuring the swimmable and water sports-equipped lakes of Caldonazzo and Levico, and the wild, less-traveled Lagorai mountains, perfect for those seeking authentic nature. Not far off, Lake Garda and the valleys of Val di Non and Val di Sole provide a range of excursions, making this region an ideal starting point to explore the best of Trentino.
