In the heart of the upper Val di Cecina, the Codirosso Estate spans a vast enclosed forest of 100 hectares, situated in a scenic location that offers breathtaking views extending to the sea, with sunsets that embrace Corsica and the island of Elba. The property, passionately managed by Emanuela and Giuseppe, is the result of a conscious lifestyle choice made after years spent abroad, rooted in the desire to live in harmony with nature.

The agriturismo welcomes guests into warm and authentic spaces, featuring three suites with kitchenettes and five double rooms, all meticulously designed, furnished with natural materials, and equipped with modern comforts such as Wi-Fi and satellite TV. The bio-designed swimming pool, nestled in the greenery and accessible year-round, invites complete relaxation in an unspoiled and tranquil setting.

The restaurant, available by reservation to both guests and the general public, celebrates the land through a cuisine that follows seasonal rhythms and prioritizes organic, local, and self-produced ingredients. The menu changes weekly to highlight what nature has to offer: hand-grown vegetables, homemade fresh pasta, free-range chicken eggs, and a selection of dishes inspired by Tuscan tradition, enriched by influences from Lombardy and Apulia. Fresh fish dishes and local cured meats round out a genuine and refined culinary offering, served in an intimate atmosphere with flowers, candles, and background music.

A highlight of the Estate is the wildlife recovery center, which welcomes and rehabilitates numerous animals in distress each year, many of which are reintroduced into the wild. Guests can also visit, by appointment, the rescued farm animals that now live freely and protected within the forest.

The strategic location of the Estate allows for easy access to beaches and major attractions in Tuscany. Open year-round by reservation, it also hosts events, courses, and initiatives designed for those looking to rejuvenate and reconnect with what is essential.
Rooms and Rates
The restaurant at Tenuta Codirosso naturally embodies the philosophy that drives the entire establishment: seasonality, respect for the land, and authenticity of flavors. Each dish is created using ingredients grown on-site or sourced from small local producers, following the rhythm of the seasons and daily availability. The vegetables are harvested from the garden, fresh pasta is handmade every morning, and the eggs come from free-range hens fed with organic feed.

The menu changes weekly and features traditional Tuscan dishes enhanced with influences from Puglia and Lombardy. It primarily offers vegetarian options but also includes fresh fish from nearby coasts and local cured meats. The ambiance is intimate and thoughtfully designed, with fresh flowers, candles, and music enhancing the dining experience.

Open by reservation, the restaurant welcomes both guests of the facility and outside visitors daily from June to October, as well as on weekends throughout the rest of the year. The space can also be reserved for private events or special occasions.

Hey, I'm Emanuela

Emanuela and Giuseppe left Milan and a well-established professional life to pursue a dream of simplicity, nature, and authenticity. After years spent abroad, they discovered in the Val di Cecina the perfect place to realize their life project: a sustainable farm that welcomes guests and animals in a well-maintained and respectful environment. Emanuela dedicates herself to hospitality, the wildlife rehabilitation center, and the rescued farm animals. She is also involved in the community as a tourism advisor for the Municipality of Castelnuovo di Val di Cecina. Giuseppe, a former lawyer, is the heart of the kitchen and agricultural production: he manages the vegetable garden, the bees, and personally selects each ingredient, creating dishes that embody their philosophy. Together, they have meticulously renovated every space on the estate, crafting a place that reflects their vision of hospitality: genuine, attentive, and deeply connected to nature.

Area Collina

The Codirosso Estate is situated in a prime location, nestled between the sea and hills, in the heart of the upper Val di Cecina. Surrounded by a dense forest of 100 hectares, it provides a peaceful oasis of unspoiled nature while remaining well-connected to the main attractions of Tuscany. From this vantage point, one can gaze out over the marine horizon: on clear days, the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, from Corsica to Elba, can be admired, offering spectacular sunsets visible directly from the rooms and the restaurant.

The estate is just a short distance from historic towns such as Volterra, Massa Marittima, and Suvereto, which are perfect for leisurely strolls filled with art, craftsmanship, and authentic flavors. In less than an hour, one can reach the beaches of the Etruscan Coast, such as those in Baratti, San Vincenzo, or Castiglioncello, ideal for a day by the sea surrounded by crystal-clear waters and pine forests.

The area is rich in natural paths and green trails, perfect for hiking, cycling, and horseback riding. Wine and food enthusiasts will find nearby wineries, olive oil mills, and farmers' markets, while those seeking wellness can visit the nearby thermal baths of Sassetta or Bagni di San Filippo.

The Val di Cecina represents the most authentic and secluded side of Tuscany, a region still relatively untouched by mass tourism, where nature and rural life harmoniously mark the passage of time.
