The Casa Gialla is a late 18th-century residence nestled in the Tuscan countryside, just a few minutes from the center of Impruneta, a renowned location for terracotta production. Renovated in the 1990s, it retains the authentic charm of Tuscan farmhouses with handmade terracotta floors, vaulted ceilings, and period furnishings, most of which belong to the Scapicchi family, who still live in and manage the property today.

Spread over two levels, the house features several tastefully decorated rooms, each with its own character. On the ground floor, you will find the Yellow Room, equipped with a canopy bed, a small kitchenette, a private bathroom, independent access, and a reserved outdoor space. The upper floor hosts four additional double rooms, each uniquely styled and equipped with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and either an en-suite or adjacent bathroom. Some even include a cozy wooden loft suitable for use as a study.

Guests can unwind by the pool surrounded by greenery, located next to a spacious lawn with deck chairs, or in the shared garden. Common areas include an inviting indoor lounge and a veranda used for breakfast and relaxation, complete with comfortable sofas and a billiards table. The breakfast is varied and seasonal, served in the veranda or outdoors if the weather permits. It features a rich buffet with sweet and savory options, and there is the possibility of a customized menu for those with food intolerances.

The property’s location allows for activities such as tennis, golf, or horseback riding, as well as cycling to explore the surrounding area. It is also conveniently located for easy access to Florence and other lesser-known yet historically rich artistic locations.

Paola’s genuine wish is to welcome guests and make them feel at home. Together with her children Agnese, a tour guide, and Pietro and Tommaso, who are involved in the care of the olive grove and production of the family’s oil, she personally oversees the entire management of the property. As a member of the Cesarine network, Paola is also eager to share the local culinary traditions by preparing typical dishes based on family recipes.

Staying at Casa Gialla means experiencing an authentic slice of genuine Tuscany, filled with culture, nature, hospitality, and flavors.
Rooms and Rates
Breakfast is served on the veranda or, when the weather permits, in the loggia or garden, surrounded by the tranquility of the countryside. Every morning, guests can enjoy a generous buffet featuring hot and cold beverages—coffee, milk, tea, herbal teas, and fruit juices—accompanied by a variety of sweet and savory items: homemade cakes, cookies, yogurt, cereals, jams, honey, cured meats, cheeses, eggs, and fresh fruit.

The offerings change with the seasons and can be tailored to meet the dietary needs of guests. Upon request, meals can also be prepared for those with intolerances or specific dietary requirements, with the same care and attention given to every aspect of hospitality.

Hey, I'm Paola

Paola is the heart of the Casa Gialla. After leaving Florence and her job, she decided to focus on her family and the large country house, gradually transforming it into a place of genuine hospitality. With passion and care, she attends to every detail of the guest experience, from preparing breakfast to managing the common areas, always eager to share the house's history, traditional cuisine, and the beauty of the surrounding landscape with her guests. By her side are her children: Agnese, an experienced tour guide knowledgeable about the heritage of Florence and its surroundings, and Pietro and Tommaso, who dedicate themselves to the family olive grove and the production of high-quality extra virgin olive oil. Together, they lovingly tend to the garden, vegetable patch, and pool, providing a warm and familial hospitality that makes each stay truly special.

Area Campagna

The Yellow House is located in Impruneta, on the outskirts of Florence, surrounded by a typically Tuscan hilly landscape featuring olive groves, vineyards, and scenic roads. This setting is perfect for those seeking a relaxing holiday in nature while still having the opportunity to explore art cities and historic villages.

Impruneta has been renowned since ancient times for its terracotta production, a craft that remains vibrant today, evidenced by numerous visitable kilns. The town center, about one and a half kilometers from the property, maintains an authentic and serene atmosphere, complete with artisan shops, cafés, typical restaurants, and the beautiful Piazza Buondelmonti, which is dominated by the Basilica of Santa Maria, a cultural and religious landmark.

In the surrounding area, you can engage in a variety of outdoor activities, including tennis courts, golf courses, horseback riding stables, and cycling paths that traverse the countryside. Enthusiasts can also try their hand at billiards at nearby facilities. This region is ideal for those who enjoy walking, capturing nature through photography, or simply being captivated by the slow and harmonious rhythms of rural life.

By car, Florence and other historically rich and charming destinations, such as Greve in Chianti, San Casciano, and the Chianti Classico hills, are easily accessible. Every excursion can turn into a journey through postcard-worthy landscapes, culinary traditions, and artistic heritage, offering a complete experience in the heart of Tuscany.
