Podere Orzale is a family-run farm located in Usigliano, nestled among the gentle hills of Pisa. It emerged from the dream of Selma and Marco, who decided to relocate to Tuscany to create an authentic and welcoming project. The property underwent a complete renovation in 2023, preserving the simple and genuine spirit of the Tuscan countryside.

The house features three rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and furnished in a unique style, along with shared spaces such as a living room with a fireplace and a panoramic terrace, perfect for relaxing moments. Breakfast is made with local ingredients and homemade products, served on the terrace during pleasant weather or at the large communal table, where new friendships often blossom. Soon, dinner and evening tastings will also be offered, showcasing local flavors with influences from Liguria and Emilia, the regions of the hosts' origins.

Podere Orzale offers more than just hospitality: it breeds American Quarter Horses, focusing particularly on the Foundation line, and promotes a quality equestrian approach with training programs tailored for both riders and horses, available individually or in groups. The farm hosts themed days with industry professionals, providing valuable opportunities for in-depth discussion and learning. Guests who travel with their horses will find ample paddocks and the chance to share a unique experience together.

The property is surrounded by trails, white roads, and authentic landscapes to explore on foot, by bike, or on horseback. There are also nature-related experiences and culinary delights available, including tastings of local products and activities that can be booked directly on-site. Pets are welcome as long as they are managed carefully and harmoniously with the other animals present on the farm.

The location is ideal for discovering the beauty of Tuscany: just minutes away are the Vicario Castle of Lari and the Casciana Thermal Baths, while Pisa, Livorno, and the beaches of Cecina and Castiglioncello can be reached in about half an hour. Volterra, Lucca, and Florence are easily accessible, making Podere Orzale a perfect starting point for cultural and gastronomic itineraries.

Here, every guest is welcomed as a friend, in a place where daily life flows among family, nature, and horses, with a commitment to providing an authentic and unforgettable experience.
Rooms and Rates
Breakfast at Podere Orzale is made with fresh ingredients and local products, often homemade, to kick off the day with authentic flavors. During the warmer months, it is served on the terrace overlooking the hills, while in the cooler months, guests gather in the cozy lounge with a fireplace. Visitors can choose to enjoy their meal together at a large communal table that encourages socializing, or in more intimate settings, all while emphasizing quality and simplicity.
At Podere Orzale, there isn't a traditional restaurant available, but soon an evening service will be launched offering dinners and tastings exclusively for guests. The dishes will be straightforward and authentic, made with fresh local ingredients and enhanced by influences from Liguria and Emilia, the regions where Selma and Marco come from. The atmosphere will resemble a friendly dinner in the countryside, designed to highlight local flavors and foster genuine moments of sharing.

Hey, I'm Selma

Selma and Marco are the vibrant heart of Podere Orzale. After extensive travels for work and passion, they chose Tuscany as their new home, creating a project that combines hospitality, nature, and horses. They are joined by their young son Gio and a cheerful group of animals that enhance the familial atmosphere of the estate. They welcome guests with warmth and simplicity, always available to suggest activities or share a moment of togetherness. Their aim is to make visitors feel like part of a large family, turning their stay into an authentic life experience.

Area Collina

Podere Orzale is located in Usigliano, a quaint village nestled in the hills of Pisa. Its setting allows visitors to experience the most authentic Tuscany while still being close to renowned art cities and attractions. The landscape here is characteristic of the Tuscan countryside, featuring vineyards, olive groves, and white roads that wind through gentle hills, with views that change with the seasons, always offering new inspirations.

Just a few minutes away is the Vicario Castle in Lari, a medieval village with a well-preserved atmosphere, also famous for its artisanal pasta makers. Casciana Terme, known for its thermal waters since Roman times, is perfect for those seeking relaxation and wellness. In under half an hour, one can reach Pisa, with its Piazza dei Miracoli, and Livorno, a coastal city renowned for its culinary offerings. A bit farther but still easily accessible are Volterra, with its Etruscan roots, Lucca with its Renaissance walls, and the beaches of Cecina and Castiglioncello, ideal for a day by the sea.

Florence is about a 45-minute drive away and is an essential stop for immersing oneself in the art and history of the Renaissance. In contrast, the area surrounding the estate maintains a slow and authentic rural lifestyle: small producers offer high-quality wines, cheeses, cured meats, and meats, while nearby trails invite leisurely walks, cycling, or horseback riding.

This part of Tuscany still preserves the balance between nature, tradition, and quality living, granting visitors the chance to alternate between days of cultural exploration and moments of silence and contemplation among the hills.
