The Residence Le Rocche is situated in the highest part of the historic center of Ferentillo, adjacent to the ancient walls of the medieval fortresses. Thanks to its fully protected location to the north, the residence enjoys sunlight exposure from dawn to dusk, creating an ideal microclimate for much of the year, characterized by mild winters and cool, breezy summers.

The four apartments designated for tourist use in our residence have been transformed from historic homes located just below one of the two fortresses of Ferentillo. Elegantly furnished and featuring high-quality finishes, the apartments are equipped with modern appliances and offer panoramic views of Ferentillo and the stunning landscape of the Valnerina. Each apartment boasts spacious outdoor areas overlooking the medieval walls, furnished with a barbecue, stove, sink, and seating areas with tables, allowing guests to enjoy breathtaking views and complete relaxation.

The first apartment, named Smeraldo, consists of a bedroom, a bathroom with a shower, a spacious living room with a sofa bed, and a kitchenette. It also has a small shaded porch and a large terrace that provides spectacular views of the Nera Valley. Next is the Ametista apartment, which includes a bedroom, a large living room with a kitchenette, and a bathroom with a shower. A wooden staircase leads to the attic, where there is a charming double bedroom with a unique retractable bed and a spacious bathroom with a bathtub. This apartment features a panoramic terrace with a seating area and a table, overlooking the Nera River and the valley, offering a truly enchanting view.

The third apartment, Rubino, is a delightful two-story space: on the ground floor, there is a living room with a sofa bed, a kitchenette, and a bathroom with a shower, while on the first floor, climbing the steep stairs, there is a loft with a sliding bed and a pouf bed, making it ideal for younger guests. Finally, the last and largest apartment, Zaffiro, features a comfortable kitchen with a dining table, a bathroom with a shower, and a spacious living room with two double sofa beds on the ground floor. Ascending the wooden stairs leads to the upper floor, where a cozy lounge with a sofa bed provides a relaxation area with views of the valley below. A comfortable double bedroom and a bathroom with a bathtub complete this gem of approximately 80 square meters in the Residence Le Rocche Della Valnerina. Stepping outside the apartment, guests can enjoy a large terrace, partially covered by a porch, furnished with relaxing chairs and a table, perfect for an outdoor aperitif.

A true treasure of the residence is the presence of a small spa, fully available to guests, which includes a pool, a sauna, and a hot tub, as well as a spacious panoramic terrace, furnished for moments of relaxation in complete harmony.

Hey, I'm Paolo

Welcome everyone, my name is Paolo, and I am the owner of Residence Le Rocche. Our journey began almost by chance, driven by a dream: to restore an ancient medieval building, complete with its stone walls, wooden beams, and roofs adorned with handmade tiles and bricks. Each feature tells the story of this place, dating back to distant times. I was fortunate to acquire these walls at a favorable price and dedicated several years of both mental and physical effort to transform the building into cozy apartments, equipped with all modern comforts. After thirty years of experience as a craftsman in the woodworking industry, I embarked on this adventure, captivated by the beauty of this area. It has been a joy to reclaim the roof tiles and stones uncovered during the demolition and restoration work, without needing to purchase a single brick or tile, despite having replaced all the roofs and restored both the interior and exterior walls. The only new materials are the wood used for the roof and the lintels, where it was necessary to replace the original material. All the masonry was constructed using natural lime and historical plaster, honoring the historical significance of the site. I find great tranquility in gazing at the village's rooftops, the river, and the valley that descends to Marmore, an open landscape that stretches towards the mountains, with hawks soaring above and the rich wildlife of the nearby river park, which is just 500 meters from the residence. This direct connection to nature, even though located in the historic center of Ferentillo, makes this place truly magical. It will be a great pleasure for me to host you and share these emotions with you. Together with my wife Catia and my daughter Elena, we look forward to offering you a unique and unforgettable vacation. See you soon!

Area Semicentro

The Rocche di Ferentillo is situated in a prime location at the highest point of the village, offering an extraordinary panoramic view of the entire Nera River valley. Although it is close to essential services such as bars, pharmacies, supermarkets, churches, and restaurants (ranging from 350 to 1000 meters away), it provides absolute tranquility due to its placement in a secluded corner, away from pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

The garden, with its private areas, is the perfect spot to unwind while reading a book or enjoying a glass of wine. An elegant outdoor lounge, suspended like a natural balcony, offers breathtaking views that extend over the valley for more than ten kilometers. The pool also adds to the unique atmosphere: while swimming, one can admire the medieval tower that overlooks the Precetto area, right above the famous Mummy Museum. Behind it, a medieval castle stands majestically, with its walls and towers contributing to a landscape filled with charm that evokes new emotions time and again.

The full southern exposure allows guests to enjoy, in every season, a particularly favorable microclimate, ideal for spending serene and rejuvenating days.

The location of the property is also strategically optimal for exploring Umbria and its surroundings. Within about half an hour or slightly more, one can easily reach artistic cities and picturesque spots such as Spoleto, Terni, Spello, Bevagna, Montefalco, Narni, Todi, the entire Valnerina up to Norcia, Leonessa, the Marmore Falls (the tallest in Europe at 165 meters), Lake Piediluco, Greccio – the site of St. Francis's first living nativity scene – as well as Assisi, Perugia, Orvieto, and Rieti.

For those wishing to expand their excursions, destinations like Rome, Siena, Arezzo, Città di Castello, Gubbio, Umbertide, and Viterbo can be reached in just over an hour. With a journey of two hours or slightly more, one can access locations such as Florence, Ancona, Caserta, or Naples—ideal distances for extended stays that allow for a deeper appreciation of the uniqueness of this central region of Italy.

Every journey will reveal the art, architecture, and scenic beauty typical of Umbria, in a region renowned for the authenticity and quality of its culinary traditions.
