Nestled in the tranquility of the Umbrian countryside, between Orvieto and Lake Bolsena, La M?rula – Antica Dimora Agricola welcomes guests to a comfortable and elegant suite, perfect for those looking to unwind in an authentic and rejuvenating setting. The accommodation is situated on the ground floor of a historic building from the early 20th century, which once housed a small winery and has now been masterfully restored to blend the charm of the past with modern comfort.

The lodging, suitable for up to three people, features a living area with a double sofa bed, an antique fireplace, a kitchenette, a double bedroom, a bathroom with a shower, and a private patio. Its location is ideal for exploring the area: Orvieto, with its famous Cathedral and the Well of Saint Patrick, is just 12 km away, while the swimmable waters of Lake Bolsena can be reached in 15 km. Also nearby is the picturesque Civita di Bagnoregio.

Breakfast, prepared with local ingredients and homemade products, reflects a commitment to authenticity and the promotion of regional specialties. This same philosophy guides the work in the surrounding vineyards, which are managed according to organic farming principles, growing indigenous white and red grape varieties, with grapes harvested exclusively by hand. The vines, many of which are ungrafted, thrive in sandy and clayey soils, caressed by constant winds and significant temperature variations, creating ideal conditions for authentic, age-worthy, and mineral-rich wines.

The family that runs La M?rula lives in harmony with nature and the animals that inhabit the garden, such as the free-range chickens and Castagna, the cat, who is a discreet companion during days spent in the countryside. Every detail tells a story of mindful choices, patient care, and a deep connection to the landscape and its history.

It's a simple and authentic way to start the day, in harmony with the style of our home.

Hey, I'm Merùla

We are a young family that has chosen to live close to nature, surrounded by the tranquility of the countryside and the beauty of simple things. We love to care for our space and welcome those who wish to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect authentically with the land. Our daily life is shared with our household animals, our chickens, and our cat Castagna, who often greets guests first with his subtle presence. We believe in respecting the earth and the value of sincere hospitality, which is expressed through small gestures and genuine attentiveness.

Area Collina

La M?rula is situated in a prime location, surrounded by a hilly landscape that features rows of vineyards, olive groves, and ancient forests, right in the heart of one of the most enchanting areas of central Italy. We are in the southern part of Umbria, just a few kilometers away from Tuscany and Lazio, in a region rich in history, nature, and culinary traditions. The property is located near the village of Sugano, a small medieval hamlet within the municipality of Orvieto, which is easily accessible yet retains its authentic character.

The proximity to sites of great interest allows for a variety of experiences throughout the year. Just 12 km away is Orvieto, known for its magnificent Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic art, and the fascinating Well of Saint Patrick. Lake Bolsena, approximately 15 km away, offers swimmable beaches, crystal-clear waters, and picturesque views perfect for nature lovers seeking tranquility. In less than half an hour, you can also reach Civita di Bagnoregio, known as “the dying town,” one of the most photographed villages in Italy, perched between sky and earth.

The natural surroundings of the residence are ideal for those who enjoy walking, biking, or simply admiring the landscape. The mild climate, with silence broken only by the sounds of the countryside, along with the bright light, make every stay a rejuvenating experience. Here, the land tells ancient stories and continues to produce valuable fruits, such as the grapes from vineyards cultivated using organic methods, reflecting the deep identity of this unspoiled corner of Umbria.
