Nestled among centuries-old olive groves and a fragrant pine forest, just a few minutes from the sea in Gallipoli, lies Tenuta Santa Rosa, an ancient 17th-century church lovingly and respectfully transformed into a cozy family-run bed & breakfast. The ambiance is authentically Salentine, characterized by its slow pace, vibrant colors, and earthy aromas.

We welcome guests into well-appointed and comfortable rooms, the result of a careful restoration that has preserved the charm of the original architecture. Each accommodation features a private bathroom, refrigerator, TV, and heating unit. The studio apartment, with its own entrance, is perfect for families or longer stays. Breakfast is served in the enchanting room with a starry ceiling, once a stable with a manger and a stone oven, where bread and dried figs were baked for the entire community.

The genuine nature of our hospitality is reflected in the breakfast offerings: cakes, tarts, jams, juices, fruits, bread, and eggs, most of which come from our fields or are sourced from the local bakery. We personally cultivate vegetables, legumes, olives, and fruits on our five hectares of land, focusing on local varieties and daily sustainability efforts. The extra virgin olive oil we produce comes from our 600 trees, predominantly Coratina and Leccino varieties.

Every family member passionately contributes to the life of the estate: from maintaining the gardens to preparing breakfasts, from welcoming guests to upkeep, and managing a project dedicated to enhancing ecosystem services, aimed at promoting a model of conscious, low-impact tourism. Solar panels, creative recycling, and respect for nature are integral to our daily practices.

The location is ideal for those seeking tranquility while still wanting to explore the wonders of Salento. The beaches of Rivabella, Baia Verde, and the Punta Pizzo Natural Park are just minutes away. Nearby are the towns of Alezio, Tuglie, Neviano, and Nardò, rich in history, tradition, and culture. Essential services are within walking distance, as are local restaurants where you can savor the authentic flavors of Salentine cuisine.

Tenuta Santa Rosa is more than just a place to stay; it invites you to rediscover the value of simple things, connect with nature, and be embraced by a family that believes in the beauty of their homeland.
Rooms and Rates
Breakfast at Tenuta Santa Rosa is one of the most cherished moments for our guests, a ritual that celebrates the authentic flavors of our land and the joy of togetherness. Every morning, I carefully prepare cakes, tarts, cookies, and jams using fruit from our garden, following recipes passed down from my mother Paola, who remains the undisputed queen of the kitchen. Alongside the sweets, we offer fresh bread, eggs, natural juices, and seasonal fruit, most of which is produced by us or sourced from the local bakery.

For those who prefer, a savory breakfast is also available, featuring simple yet flavorful bites. We serve everything in the old barn, which has been transformed into a cozy room with star-shaped vaults, where bread and dried figs were once baked in the large stone oven. Each breakfast provides an opportunity to share stories, exchange smiles, and start the day slowly, surrounded by the scents of home and a familiar atmosphere.

Hey, I'm Alessandra

My name is Alessandra, but everyone here calls me Aunt Ale. I live and work at Tenuta Santa Rosa with my family, with whom I share a love for this land and everything it represents. I am a practical and creative person, responsible for restoring the structure, taking care of the furnishings, and maintaining the outdoor spaces, often repurposing materials with creativity and attention to detail. I enjoy driving the tractor as much as cultivating roses, tidying up a corner of the garden, or breathing new life into forgotten objects. For me, Tenuta Santa Rosa is not just a home but also a family project that embodies memory, traditions, hospitality, and respect for nature. Each day, I engage in something different, striving to keep the authentic spirit of this place alive so that guests can feel part of a simple, genuine story that is deeply rooted in the heart of Salento.

Area Campagna

We are located in Chiesanuova, a small village within the municipality of Sannicola, surrounded by the lush greenery of the Salento countryside but just a few kilometers from Gallipoli and its stunning beaches. The village retains an authentic spirit, characterized by familiar faces, a relaxed pace of life, and essential services within easy reach: the bakery, grocery store, pastry shop, post office, and newsagent-tobacconist are all within walking distance. Just a short walk away is the SalentoinBus stop and the Chiesanuova-Sannicola train station, convenient for those traveling without a car.

The northern coast of Gallipoli, featuring the beaches of Rivabella and Lido Conchiglie, is only 5 minutes away, while the famous Baia Verde can be reached in ten minutes. The location is also perfect for exploring the inland areas: we are close to Alezio, an ancient Messapic city with its archaeological park and civic museum; Tuglie, home to the Museum of Radio and Rural Civilization; Neviano, which hosts the Ecomuseum of the Salentine Hills; and Nardò, known for its beautiful Baroque historic center.

Nature enthusiasts can venture into the Porto Selvaggio Natural Park and the Palude del Capitano, where one can find pine forests, caves, rocky paths, and breathtaking views of the sea. The surrounding area also boasts excellent traditional restaurants where you can savor Salento cuisine: just a few meters from the estate is Trattoria Pizzeria Giocò, but it’s worth traveling to La Vecchia Cantina in San Simone, I Malampi in Alezio, or Trattoria Olga in the heart of Gallipoli.

Here, amidst culture, tradition, and natural beauty, every day can be an opportunity to discover Salento in an authentic and mindful way.
