Il Poggianino welcomes guests in a 19th-century country residence, nestled in the tranquility and scents of the Romagna hills. The property is located at the edge of an olive grove, within the historic estate that also houses the Palazzo del Poggiano, once owned by the Malatesta family of Rimini and now a venue for events. The location is charming: from here, one can gaze upon the Valmarecchia, with the sea visible in the distance, providing a captivating backdrop in every season.

Surrounded by a landscape that invites exploration, Il Poggianino serves as the perfect starting point for those wishing to discover the Romagna hinterland, with its medieval villages, nature trails, panoramic views, and local culinary delights.

Guests can choose from three independent apartments, each featuring a unique style and meticulously curated details, designed to make everyone feel truly at home in an atmosphere of genuine relaxation.

Hey, I'm Alessandra

My journey as the manager of Poggianino began almost by chance, driven by the desire to provide a cozy option for those attending events at the nearby Palazzo del Poggiano who wanted to stay a bit longer. Over time, what started as a practical necessity evolved into a passion: a love for authentic hospitality that is attentive and makes every guest feel welcomed and at ease. I aim to convey a sense of home that is not only connected to the local area, reflecting its identity and details, but also warm, open, and vibrant. I like to envision that a stay at Poggianino can become an integral part of the journey, creating a lasting memory due to its atmosphere and the feelings it evokes. A key part of making all this possible is Ines, a valuable and discreet presence, an tireless collaborator and the gentle spirit of the house. Her quiet care contributes daily to creating the harmony I hope guests will take with them.

Area Collina

Valmarecchia is a remarkable region where nature showcases its diverse beauty, ranging from rocky peaks to shady forests, and from gently cultivated hills to views that unfold between fields and olive groves. The landscape is ever-changing yet consistently harmonious, crisscrossed by a dense network of well-marked trails ideal for walking, cycling, or horseback riding amidst greenery and tranquility.

Just a few kilometers away lies the area of Alta Valmarecchia, known for its ancient villages, fortresses, and churches. San Leo stands out with its impressive fortress linked to the enigmatic figure of Count Cagliostro. Other notable towns include Pennabilli, Novafeltria, Casteldelci, Maiolo, and Talamello—small centers rich in history, art, and traditions, telling the tales of the great Montefeltro and Malatesta families in a captivating blend of culture and local identity.

The strategic location of Poggianino makes it easy to reach the Adriatic coast, with Rimini just 15 km away and San Marino only 18 km distant. The world’s oldest republic boasts a perfectly preserved medieval village perched on Mount Titano, where visitors can stroll through stone alleys, explore museums, ascend towers, and enjoy views that encompass both sea and hills.

Nearby is Poggio Torriana, formed by the merger of Poggio Berni and Torriana. Here, one can visit the Molino Sapignoli museum, which preserves the memory of the local olive oil tradition, or the famous Azzurrina castle in Montebello, shrouded in legends and mystery. Don’t miss the breathtaking views from the Torriana fortress and the Marcosanti Castle, another significant example of Malatesta domination in these lands, along with the Palazzo del Poggiano itself.

This area is a tapestry of authentic sights, perfect for those seeking a slow and profound travel experience, surrounded by nature, history, and culture.
