The area surrounding the Agriturismo Alla Vecchia Quercia is one of the most captivating and still authentic regions of the Marche, characterized by a diverse and harmonious landscape that features gentle hills, lush forests, open pastures, and small villages rich in history. We are in the territory of Pergola, a town renowned for its well-preserved historic center, the National White Truffle Fair, and the famous Golden Bronzes, one of Italy's most significant archaeological discoveries.
Just a few kilometers away, breathtaking natural scenery unfolds, such as the Monte Catria massif, perfect for walking, mountain biking, trekking, and horseback riding. In winter, the plateau transforms into a destination for snow sports, while in the warmer months, it serves as a refreshing oasis for breathing clean air. From the summit, one can enjoy an extraordinary view of the Umbrian and Marche valleys, extending all the way to the Adriatic Sea.
The proximity to the Furlo Gorge, the Frasassi Caves, and the Gola della Rossa State Nature Reserve provides nature and geology enthusiasts with opportunities to explore canyons, karst caves, and landscapes shaped by water and time. There are also plenty of cultural and artistic experiences available: Urbino, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a Renaissance gem located nearby, as are Mondavio with its impressive fortress, Gradara with the legendary castle of Paolo and Francesca, and Castelleone di Suasa with its archaeological park.
The Adriatic coast is easily accessible for a seaside trip, with places like Fano, Senigallia, Marotta, and the Monte Conero promontory offering sandy beaches, clear waters, and excellent seafood cuisine. The entire region is imbued with a strong gastronomic identity, characterized by local products, farming traditions, and genuine flavors: from Verdicchio wine to white truffles, and from artisanal cured meats to aged cheeses.
In this part of the Marche, still relatively untouched by mass tourism, one can experience a rare authenticity, where each season has its own rhythm, colors, and celebrations: markets, festivals, fairs, and moments of togetherness that reveal the true spirit of a generous and welcoming territory.
