Villa Margherita is a genuine historical residence located in one of the most captivating areas of Lake Maggiore, along the stretch of villas, gardens, and historic parks that define the Piedmontese coastline near the Gulf of Lesa. Built in the early 1900s by the Cabella family from Genoa and serving as a welcoming retreat for travelers since 1952, the villa now stands as a charming refuge for those wishing to immerse themselves in the beauty and tranquility of the lakeside landscape, which is protected by specific regulations due to its scenic value.

Surrounded by ancient trees, it provides an oasis of peace and greenery just minutes from the public beach of Madonna di Campagna, equipped with showers, as well as a pool and tennis courts that are easily accessible. The spacious rooms, furnished with original pieces from the villa, preserve the elegant character of the house, featuring recently renovated private bathrooms with showers and Wi-Fi. The large west-facing terrace of each room offers relaxing views that are perfect for sunset. In keeping with the serene atmosphere of the residence, the rooms do not include televisions.

Guests can unwind in the veranda, designed for reading, conversation, or enjoying a snack, or play the piano located in the lounge on the ground floor. Breakfast is served in the garden during the warm season, or in the veranda on cooler days.

Just a short walk away, Lesa is a charming village with cozy restaurants, bistros, and pizzerias. From here, it is easy to embark on excursions to the Borromean Islands, Villa Taranto, Isola Madre, or the Alpinia botanical garden in Gignese, with convenient access via trains, boats, and buses. For a romantic dinner, guests can reserve a table at the restaurant "La Peschiera" on Fishermen's Island, accessible by speedboat from Stresa, with a special discount for villa guests.

Managed by the Visentini family since 1959, the villa is now lovingly maintained by Raffaelo, alongside his brother Alfredo and wife Tina, who uphold the original spirit and authenticity of the furnishings with the same care and dedication that Margherita and Giovanni began in the post-war period. A stay at Villa Margherita offers an authentic experience filled with history, nature, and genuine hospitality.
Rooms and Rates
Breakfast is served in the park on sunny days, in shaded corners featuring small tables surrounded by the beauty of seasonal flowers, accompanied by the melodious songs of birds.

To start your day, you can enjoy only freshly ground coffee, made with the traditional Italian "Bialetti" coffee maker. This is an invitation to take the time to savor a great cup of coffee in the park at a leisurely pace.

Additionally, included in the price, Raffaelo will bring to your table orange juice, packaged jam, and, if available, a homemade jam made from peaches or raspberries from our garden, along with cookies or treats, and a platter of cold cuts and cheeses. You can always count on a fresh fruit salad prepared by Raffaelo!

Hey, I'm Raffaelo

Villa Margherita has been in the hands of the Visentini family for over sixty years, who, with dedication and sensitivity, preserve its authentic charm and timeless atmosphere. The hospitality business began in the post-war period thanks to Margherita and Giovanni, who initiated a careful restoration process to make the residence comfortable and inviting for travelers beginning to explore the beauty of Lake Maggiore. Today, Raffaelo passionately continues the family legacy, aiming to provide guests with a stay that combines elegance, simplicity, and warmth. During the beautiful season, he is joined by his brother Alfredo and his wife Tina, working together to maintain a genuine, attentive, and discreet hospitality. Their welcoming style is rooted in respect for the villa's history, love for the region, and a sincere desire to make every guest feel at home. Staying at Villa Margherita means connecting with a family story intertwined with that of the lake, where every detail is tastefully attended to, and every interaction is experienced with genuine friendliness.

Area Campagna

The villa is located in Lesa, along the western shore of Lake Maggiore, in one of the most charming and prestigious areas of the Piedmont region. The landscape surrounding it features a succession of historic villas, English gardens, ancient trees, and lake views, so much so that it is protected as a public interest site due to its exceptional cultural and scenic value.

Lesa is a small, elegant village where life moves at a slow and pleasant pace. Directly facing the lake, it offers a relaxing stroll among marinas, cafés, bistros, and restaurants serving local cuisine, making it an ideal spot for those seeking tranquility along with a touch of authenticity. The public beach at Madonna di Campagna, just a few minutes' walk from the villa, is a quiet and secluded spot perfect for unwinding or swimming in calm waters, away from mass tourism. Nearby, there is also a public swimming pool and tennis courts that are easily accessible on foot.

Villa Margherita's location is particularly advantageous for those wanting to explore the wonders of the lake. Stresa, just 7 km away, is an ideal starting point for visiting the Borromean Islands and Villa Pallavicino, while Villa Taranto in Pallanza and the Alpinia botanical garden in Gignese can also be reached in a short amount of time. Regular trains, buses, and boats depart from Lesa and nearby Belgirate, making travel convenient and scenic.

For nature lovers seeking peace and quiet, the surrounding area offers trails through forests and morainic hills, providing stunning views of the lake and mountains. For those looking for a romantic experience, a dinner on the Fishermen's Island can be arranged, with a private speedboat from Stresa and back.

The area where the villa stands exemplifies a perfect balance of nature, history, and comfort, where every detail of the landscape invites exploration and relaxation.
