Ca’ Pavaglione is a retreat nestled in the natural beauty of the Langhe region, situated among the hills of Alta Langa in a scenic and peaceful location. The spacious and comfortable rooms have been thoughtfully renovated to preserve the traditional Piedmontese architecture, maintaining the charm of the stone walls and vaulted ceilings.

This establishment serves as an ideal starting point for exploring the area: strolls through chestnut groves, hazelnut orchards, and vineyards, trails following the path of truffles, as well as visits to local castles and wineries. Just a short distance away, the San Bovo Equestrian Center provides the opportunity to experience the beauty of the Langhe through horseback riding excursions, complemented by picnics in the countryside or meals at typical farms.

San Bovo di Castino, made famous by Beppe Fenoglio in his novel "La malora," is a village rich in history and authenticity. Matteo, the owner, aimed to recreate the warm and welcoming atmosphere he has known since childhood, transforming Ca’ Pavaglione into a place where every guest can feel at home.

The two independent structures offer five rooms surrounded by greenery, along with cozy common areas equipped with all the necessary comforts. Breakfast is served nearby, while coffee, tea, and sweets are always available for guests. Wi-Fi covers the entire village, parking is free, and pets are welcome. For cycling enthusiasts, there is a bike storage area equipped with charging facilities.

Among the recommended experiences are food and wine tours, wine tastings, and aperitifs at local wineries, in addition to traditional restaurants where one can savor the culinary heritage of Piedmont. Ca’ Pavaglione is the perfect spot for those seeking relaxation, authenticity, and a deep connection with the nature and culture of the Langhe.
Rooms and Rates
Our breakfasts are served buffet-style and feature a delightful assortment of cakes, tarts, freshly baked croissants from a wood-fired oven, cold cuts, cheeses, yogurt, and a range of hot and cold beverages.

This year, we have an exciting new addition: breakfasts will be served on the terrace of the wine bar next to the B&B!
The Wine Bar Pavaglione 2.5 is more than just a simple eatery; it is a place to experience the authentic flavors of Piedmont through farm-to-table dishes made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Located next to the establishment, it provides a genuine experience centered around taste and togetherness.

Here, you can kick off your day with a hearty breakfast, featuring both sweet and savory options made from local products. As the sun sets, the ambiance becomes even more enchanting: beneath the charming gazebo, you can enjoy a delightful aperitif paired with some of the finest wines from the region, carefully chosen to enhance the local flavors.

In the vicinity, you'll find a variety of restaurants offering traditional Piedmontese cuisine, showcasing an extensive range of classic dishes. We would be happy to recommend and assist you in your selections, allowing you to embark on a true culinary journey to discover local delicacies.

Hey, I'm Matteo

Thanks to my grandparents, I had the chance to discover and fall in love with this charming village from a young age. I gradually explored San Bovo, day by day, and with excitement, I realized how pleasantly surprising rural life can be, enveloping you in its simple and reassuring beauty. San Bovo is the perfect destination for trekking enthusiasts, whether on foot or by bike, and it also offers the opportunity for horseback riding, allowing for a complete immersion in the authentic nature of the Langhe. With this spirit and the support of my mother, I decided to renovate my great-grandfather's historic house and turn it into a cozy B&B.

Area Campagna

The Alta Langa is a genuine region where unspoiled nature intertwines with centuries-old traditions and unique flavors. Here, amidst the hills celebrated by Fenoglio and Pavese, every corner tells a tale of togetherness, hard work, and passion, passed down through generations.

The gentle yet wild hills offer breathtaking views and green pathways, ideal for hiking or mountain biking. From chestnut and hazelnut forests to the vineyards of Barbaresco, each trail provides unforgettable sights and must-visit culinary stops. You can explore the Tonda Gentile hazelnut of the Langhe along the Hazelnut Trail, stroll through charming stone villages like Bergolo and Cravanzana, or be captivated by the allure of the Langa del Barbaresco, known for its fine wines and timeless landscapes.

But it’s not just about wine and truffles; the Langhe is also home to exceptional cheeses, such as the traditional Tuma delle Langhe, which you can taste in small towns like Murazzano, Bossolasco, and Roccaverano, nestled among fragrant woods and meadows.

For those seeking an even more immersive experience, Ca’ Pavaglione is the perfect starting point for horseback riding trails through the hills, in collaboration with the San Bovo Equestrian Center. Here, you can fully connect with nature: it’s common to encounter goats, chickens, and donkeys in the village, making your stay feel even more authentic and engaging, especially for children.

Just a few kilometers away, the landscape transforms again, offering more surprises: the blooming lavender fields in Sale San Giovanni, the grandeur of Prunetto Castle, or a glass of Alta Langa, the sparkling wine that showcases the more refined side of these hills.

Whether you want to discover the most authentic roots of the Langa, walk the paths of the partisans, or simply enjoy the tranquility and beauty of nature, Ca’ Pavaglione is the perfect retreat for a unique experience filled with adventure, relaxation, and unforgettable flavors. We would be delighted to assist you in planning your ideal itinerary to help you experience the best of this still relatively unexplored corner of Piedmont.
