Nestled among the gentle hills of Siena, our farmhouse welcomes you into an authentic and familial environment, where the warmth of Tuscan hospitality blends with the flavors of a living tradition. Once an ancient farm, it has now transformed into a cozy retreat surrounded by nature, complete with a beautiful swimming pool, perfect for moments of complete relaxation.

In our on-site restaurant, “Il Grillo Moro,” Tuscan cuisine comes to life through recipes passed down through generations, originating from the well-worn notebooks of Grandma Melia, Nena, and Aunt Bruna. Simple yet rich dishes tell a story woven from the seasons, harvests, and genuine gestures. Handmade pici, tagliatelle, and gnocchi honor tradition, complemented by specialties such as Chianina tartare and the renowned “Ciccio Bono,” a true signature of our establishment.

Our commitment to quality is reflected in our selection of meat, aged for 33 days and carefully cooked to enhance the flavors of the Fiorentina steak, served on a hot plate at 140 degrees with Volterra salt, Dievole oil, and black pepper—following a ritual that combines craftsmanship and passion.

Every morning, breakfast is served in the main hall with a generous buffet featuring a variety of sweet and savory options: homemade cakes, cantuccini, cheeses, cured meats, and the essential bruschetta. We are attentive to everyone’s needs, including those with food intolerances—just let us know in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Surrounding this corner of Tuscany is the Val di Merse, a region dotted with abbeys, medieval villages, parish churches, and castles. Cycling and nature enthusiasts will find scenic routes suited to all levels, with nature reserves inviting you to ride through vineyards, olive groves, and sunflower fields. A visit to the Abbey of San Galgano is a must, featuring the captivating sword in the rock housed at the Montesiepi hermitage.

We are a Tuscan family deeply connected to our land, authentic flavors, animals, and the simplicity of things made with love. Together with our warm and professional staff, we will ensure that your stay becomes a cherished memory.
Rooms and Rates
Breakfast is offered in the main hall and features a lavish buffet that honors Tuscan traditions. Each morning, guests can enjoy bruschetta, local cured meats and cheeses, homemade pastries, cookies, cantuccini, and cakes made with quality ingredients. The restaurant “Il Grillo Moro” was created from the desire to bring family cooking to the table, featuring recipes passed down through generations, notes written in old notebooks, and memories tied to the land. Here, handmade pici, tagliatelle, and gnocchi are prepared, accompanied by dishes that blend tradition and creativity, such as the Chianina tartare and the famous “Ciccio Bono.”
The meat is carefully selected and aged for 33 days, to provide one of the best Fiorentina steaks in Tuscany. It is served according to a precise ritual: a hot plate at 140 degrees, filleted on the spot, with coarse salt from Volterra, Dievole olive oil, and black pepper, achieving a perfect balance of flavors.

The setting is rustic yet inviting, and the atmosphere reflects that of an authentic Tuscan trattoria, where the love for good food is felt in every detail.

Area Campagna

The establishment is situated in the heart of the Val di Merse, a part of Tuscany that remains genuine and less frequented, where time appears to flow with the slowness of an ancient tale. This region, located south of Siena, is enveloped in a harmonious landscape of forests, cultivated fields, Romanesque churches, and small medieval villages that rise from the hills like precious gems.

This area is perfect for those who enjoy exploring by bike or on foot, thanks to a network of trails that traverse nature reserves, white roads, and paths through vineyards, olive groves, and sunflower fields. Whether for leisurely strolls or mountain biking routes, there is a suitable pace for every level of experience here.

Just 18 kilometers from the establishment lies the Abbazia di San Galgano, one of the most enchanting spots in Tuscany. Its roofless nave, open to the sky, is breathtaking, while nearby, on the hill of Montesiepi, the legendary sword in the stone is kept, symbolizing spirituality and mystery.

Val di Merse is also a place to rediscover the silence and harmony of nature, with protected areas that host remarkable biodiversity. The surrounding villages, such as Chiusdino, Sovicille, and Monticiano, preserve the essence of rural Tuscany, featuring quiet squares, artisan shops, and local flavors that tell stories of the land, family, and seasons.

It is an ideal destination for those seeking authenticity, away from mass tourism, where every view encourages a slower pace and every encounter leaves a heartfelt memory.
