Ca’ di Martino is a family-run bed and breakfast that welcomes guests to the tranquility of Lunigiana, a captivating region nestled between the sea and mountains. Established from the restoration of old stables, cellars, and drying rooms, it still retains traces of its rural history while offering the comfort of modern and well-maintained spaces. The property features six double rooms, each with a private bathroom, along with communal areas such as the breakfast rooms, which serve as gathering and relaxation spots, complete with a lit fireplace in winter or the coolness of stone walls in summer. Outside, guests can enjoy a spacious garden, a patio with a sun terrace, and over two hectares of land that provide views of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines and the nearby chestnut grove.

The management is in the hands of Lorenzo and Alice, who, along with their young son Martino and their Labrador Brinda, have chosen to turn a dream into reality. After spending years in the city, they decided to embark on a project that reflects their desire for sharing and connecting with nature. Their philosophy centers around warm hospitality, with genuine care for each guest.

The day begins with a buffet breakfast enhanced by hot beverages served at the table. Each room is equipped with a kettle for tea and herbal infusions, while communal areas feature a microwave, toaster, and kettles available for guests. Among the services offered are complimentary Wi-Fi, outdoor parking, toiletries, and the option to stay with pets.

Located in Mulazzo, Ca’ di Martino serves as an ideal starting point for exploring Lunigiana. In just a few kilometers, one can transition from mountains to sea, passing through medieval villages and castles, with opportunities for trekking, cycling, horseback riding, and excursions to the Cinque Terre, Versilia, and the Gulf of Poets. In winter, activities include snowshoeing and skiing, while in summer, guests can cool off in the streams or participate in local festivals. The area is also known for its mushrooms, chestnuts, and culinary traditions that reflect the spirit of this borderland.

Staying at Ca’ di Martino means immersing oneself in nature, rediscovering the slow pace of rural life, and experiencing simplicity, warmth, and authenticity.

Hey, I'm Lorenzo & Alice

At the helm of Ca’ di Martino are Lorenzo and Alice, a young couple who opted for a lifestyle change to pursue their dream. After spending years caught up in the hustle and bustle of city life, they made the decision to relocate to Lunigiana in order to establish a place where hospitality and sharing are the core values. Joining them are their young son Martino and their Labrador, Brinda, who are integral companions in this journey, making the bed and breakfast feel genuinely like a family environment. Each guest is welcomed as part of the home, with the warmth and attentiveness characteristic of those who have chosen hospitality as a way of life.

Area Campagna

Lunigiana is a borderland that seamlessly blends Tuscany, Liguria, and Emilia Romagna, preserving an untouched and wild charm. Mulazzo, home to Ca’ di Martino, is located along the ancient Via Francigena, a historic pilgrimage route that still traverses hills, valleys, and medieval villages, offering breathtaking views.

In just a few kilometers, the landscape transforms dramatically: from the peaks of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, perfect for hiking, snowshoeing, and skiing in winter, one descends through forests and valleys until reaching the sea of Versilia, the Cinque Terre, and the Gulf of Poets. The hills are dotted with vineyards, olive groves, and chestnut forests that have defined this land for centuries and enrich its local cuisine.

The area is scattered with small stone villages and castles that narrate the history of the Malaspina family and ancient lordships, providing visitors with a journey through time. Along the trails, one can easily encounter crystal-clear streams, perfect for a refreshing swim on summer days, or mule tracks leading to Romanesque churches and scenic fortresses.

Lunigiana is also synonymous with culinary tradition: the famous testaroli, panigacci, mushrooms, and chestnuts take center stage in festivals and village celebrations that enliven the towns throughout the year. Local associations offer trekking routes, mountain biking trails, and nature activities that allow one to experience this land in every season, always revealing a new aspect.

Staying here means immersing oneself in an atmosphere of authenticity, surrounded by unspoiled nature, ancient culture, and a hospitality that keeps a deep connection to its own identity intact.
